A workout timer you can read from the floor
Round & Rest shows one phase at a time as a full-screen block of colour with ultra-bold white digits. You read it in peripheral vision, phone flat on the ground, mid-burpee — including outdoors in direct sunlight.

- Intervals Work then rest, repeated. The classic HIIT structure.
- EMOM Every Minute On the Minute — a fresh round starts on a fixed beat.
- AMRAP As Many Rounds As Possible in a fixed window, with a round counter.
- For Time Count up until you finish, with an optional time cap.
- Circuits Several blocks, each repeating its own list of exercises.
Tabata is not a sixth format — it is intervals of 20 seconds on and 10 seconds off, eight rounds. Open a Tabata timer already set up.
Why it looks like this
Most workout timers are designed to be read at arm's length, on a desk. A timer in a gym is read from three metres away, upside down, while you are out of breath. That single constraint decides the whole design: one flat saturated colour per phase, white digits as large as the screen allows, and no thin text, no gradients, no low-contrast greys.
There are exactly three sound cues — a countdown tick before the start, a go signal at each round, and an end signal. Not one more. A timer that beeps constantly stops being information and becomes noise.

- No sign-up. Open it and use it. Nothing to create.
- No ads, no tracking, no data resale.
- Works offline. Install it on your phone and it runs in a basement gym with no signal.
- Nothing leaves your device. Your sessions and history live in your browser.
Describe your session out loud
Round & Rest also plugs into a conversational assistant. Say "three blocks of two one-minute exercises, four rounds, ninety seconds rest" and the timer appears in the conversation, already configured. Connect it to Claude or ChatGPT.
Share a session
Every session fits in a link, and the app turns that link into a QR code. Whoever opens it gets the timer already set up — no account, no install. Useful for a coach handing the same session to a whole room.
